Chubby Wolf
Danielle Baquet-Long (31 July 1982 – 8 July 2009), also known as Chubby Wolf, was an American drone / ambient musician, who also performed as half of the duo Celer with her husband Will Long.
She was a painter, photographer, writer of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, a vocalist, and a self-taught musician and composer. In Dani and Will’s time together, they produced numerous custom, handmade self-releases on CD-R, sound and art for installations and art exhibitions, and many works for independent labels in North America, Europe, and Asia. Her unpublished music, writing, and photography continue to be published, managed lovingly by her husband Will Long.
Danielle Marie Baquet was born on July 31, 1982, in Anaheim, California, United States. In 2000-2004 she attended the University of California in Santa Barbara, studying Psychology, Gender, Religion, Education, Basque History, Creative Writing, Photography, and Tibetan Studies.
In 2002 she traveled to India, where she lived and studied in Bylakuppe, Karnataka at the Namdroling Monastery, and in Dharamsala, where she met the Dalai Lama, participated in Human Rights work for Tibet, and taught Tibetan children English. Later she traveled to Nepal, where she lived in Kathmandu.
Upon returning to the United States, she became a teacher of Special Education in Huntington Beach, California. She was also the owner of two rescued wolf dogs from Arizona.
Danielle Baquet-Long died at 26 years old on July 8, 2009 of congenital heart failure.
